It’s not just the first stop on your way to enjoying the beautiful island of Tortola, it’s a gorgeous piece of land all of its own.
Road Harbor is located in Tortola’s capital of Road Town. Road Harbor is Road Town’s main water front. As a result, it’s the main docking point for yachtsmen, day sailors, and water sports junkies alike. You’ll even be able to get in a day of shopping and sightseeing as Road Harbor is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Road Town --the epicenter of Tortola’s shopping.
What’s most important to remember is that Road Harbor isn’t necessarily a tourist attraction; it’s simply the first stop on your way to some incredible spots on Tortola. However, the harbor itself is part of enticing appeal of Tortola, and it’s practically centrally located to every tourist site on the island. Besides Road Town, where visitors can enjoy a plethora of shopping and dining opportunities, Road Harbor is incredibly close to some neighboring beaches, all of which are open to the public and perfect for getting in touch with your inner Caribbean.
There are a few restaurants on Road Harbor, all of which are actually fantastic eateries. You’ll be able to sample everything from the traditional Caribbean and West Indian fare for which the islands are known to some experimental cuisine. Some of the restaurants may not have a great view; however, restaurants like The Dove prove to be overwhelming favorites of the locals. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to mingle with the natives of Tortola and understand the true rhythm and relaxation of this Caribbean paradise.
Although Road Harbor isn’t much of a tourist spot, it does provide you the opportunity to get around to some of the more popular beaches, restaurants, and attractions on the island. When you dock in Road Harbor, you’ll be greeted with the undeniable buzz of Road Town and be able to sample some fine cuisine before you either embark or take rest at one of the many hotels and resorts on the British Virgin Island of Tortola.
