Tortola Taxi Cabs -- Continue
Being the BVI’s biggest island, Tortola is a place that’s just ripe for people to walk along the coastline and enjoy the rays of the sun. However, getting around could get a bit complicated if you’re not sure where you’re going or how you’re going to get there. The transportation services in Tortola are top notch. If you’re in need of a taxi, you’ll be able to find a service that will take you wherever your heart desires. Depending on where you’re residing, you’ll have complimentary hailing service that will get you a taxi cab that will transport you wherever you want.
What you’ll find, however, is that no matter where you are in the BVI, taxis are relatively expensive. It’s always better to rent your own car --especially if you want to get around on your own time and with your own control. However, if you’re interested in getting to areas that are not well known by tourists, you’ll want to reserve some money for those moments when you want to get to local areas. You’ll also want to ensure that you have money for those moments when you’ve had a wicked night out on the Tortola town. You don’t want to get stranded in a buzzing bar or restaurant without a means to get back to your hotel or resort.
It’s very easy to get a taxi cabby’s attention. All one must do is wave your hand in the air --regardless of if he passes you, he’ll most likely stop if there’s a free seat in the cab (after all, they want your patronage, right?). Road Town is chock full of taxi vans and safaris that are ready for those who need specially transportation. If you’re travelling in a large group, you’ll want to invest in a van that will get you to and from wherever you’re going.
As with most things in life, you’ll always want to be sure that you’re as polite as possible. Taxis are exceptionally prevalent in Road Town around 4 pm --the locals are just getting off of work and need transportation to their after work locations. You’ll be able to catch a cab without much of a problem as long as you’re aware and keep your attention focused on finding a ride to your respective destination. One mustn’t visit Tortola without taking a safari bus --a thrilling ride through the island.
