Fort Frederik Beach, St. Croix USVI
There are those beaches that can easily be missed because of the attraction that flanks them. Sometimes, a tourist attraction will overtake the entire idea of another beach and leave it open for those who wish to get a day in at the beach without being disturbed by overzealous tourists. It’s no surprise that Fort Frederik Beach is one of those beaches. It’s a lovely place on the US Virgin Island of St. Croix that doesn’t exactly get its due credit, but it does provide a quiet place for people to just relax.
If you’re looking for a great deal of relaxation, you’ll find it at Fort Frederik Beach. From the Frederiksted Pier, take a right and right across from another popular tourist attraction, Buddhoe Park, you’ll find Fort Frederik Beach. It’s not necessarily tucked away, but when a beach is flanked by a great deal of tourists attractions, it’s either going to be crowded all the time or completely ignored in lieu of something more interesting. This beach has been easily cast in the shadow of the Frederiksted Pier --as the Pier is lauded as one of the best places in the US Virgin Islands to get in any kind of water play. However, the beach is a marvel. Though there isn’t an incredible pier from which kids and adults alike can jump, the waters are still absolutely gorgeous and give guests all the opportunities in the world to experience the warm splendor of the Caribbean Sea.
Fort Frederik Beach is ideal for those people who’d rather get in their Caribbean adventure without the loud sounds rampaging teenagers, stereos, or rowdiness of anxious tourists. Because of its relative unpopulated nature, you’ve to the chance to lie out on the beach on your beach blanket and soak in the gorgeous rays of the sun. You also get the chance to take in the warm spumes of the waves as they roll in from the Caribbean. If you’re interested in something a bit more adventurous, you’ll find that the snorkeling this side of the Frederiksted Pier is just brilliant. You’ll also find that the fishing here is a great deal more promising than on the Frederiksted Pier --as the cruise ships and military boats don’t dock here, the fish are ready and waiting for someone to cast out and give them the prospect of food (so, essentially, both parties win: the fish get their food, and so do you).
If you’re still not convinced that Fort Frederik Beach is the perfect place for you, then just consider this: would you rather have to deal with the splashing kids or enjoy the calm serenity of a lovely Caribbean beach as you lie out on the soft sandy beach? If you’ve chosen the latter vision of absolute calm, then Fort Frederik Beach is just the place for you. Don’t be fooled by its relative unpopularity; this beach is a marvel and a wonder, especially for those who want to spend their Caribbean vacation in privacy.
