Judith's Fancy Beach, St. Croix USVI

There’s so much more to the Caribbean than its remarkable beaches and sumptuous sweets. While envisioning yourself basking in the glow of the Caribbean sun, taking in the lovely sounds and of the sea as it rolls along the shore, and the fantastic smells of the seafood is all part of the Caribbean experience, you also have to get a chance to take in some of the historical relevance that makes up this US Virgin Island of St. Croix.

Judith’s Fancy was a 17th century chateau and the home of the governor of the Knights of Malta. The ruins that make up this chateau are what are collectively known as Judith’s Fancy. It’s named such because it was the home of the first woman to ever reside on the property. The villas that make up Judith’s Fancy are amazing and give any visitor a sense of being wrapped in unending luxury. The view, of course, is a sight to behold. Anytime you get a chance to make your resting place a villa that overlooks the shoreline of the Caribbean, you’re getting yourself ready to be wrapped in the most amazing sense of serenity and beauty.

Of course, Judith’s Fancy isn’t just a spot of historical relevance; it’s also a great beach in which you should invest some time. If you’re a big fan of shelling, this beach is the perfect place to find a great deal of shells to take with you as a keepsake of the island of St. Croix. It doesn’t have much to offer in the way of swimming; however, the beach is still a perfect place to get in a great deal of activity. If you’re a big surfer, then this beach is just what you need. The water is great for those who love to live on the edge --fast and carefree. The water itself isn’t incredible deep. The bottom is covered in marvelous reef and offers great opportunities for those who want to do a bit of snorkeling. The underwater wildlife that makes its home within the reef wouldn’t mind sharing the waters with curious visitors (as long as those visitors mind their manners, of course).

Beyond the opportunities you’ll get to enjoy the water, you simply must take in some of the natural beauty of the beach. Take a bit of a stroll along the shoreline and you’ll discover things that you never knew even existed on this side of the world. It’s a great place for exploration and collecting mementos to take home with you as you wave goodbye to the stunning island of St. Croix.

Though the beach itself is more or less for those who want to discover some of the remarkable history of St. Croix, it’s still a great place for families and individuals alike who simply want to take in the gorgeous nature that wraps Judith’s Fancy in such splendor. Come to this beach and you’ll surely have an experience you won’t soon forget (don’t forget to collect as many shells as you can).
