For example, you can arrange a day trip that usually covers 6 to 8 hours. Some even include stops for snorkeling. Many of these trips come with an excellent lunch that is included in the day's cost. Passage to Adventure!
When you charter a yacht for the day with Blue Tang, you'll be in friendly and professional hands. A light breakfast and snacks are on hand, along with our Blue Tangarita and, for the brave, our famed and ferocious Blue Tang Bloody Mary.
Next, it's overboard for a wonderful water adventure where you can swim, snorkel, or catch some rays. Then we'll take you island hopping - maybe to Sandy Spit or perhaps "The Indians" rock formations off Norman Island or a tucked-away beach all to yourselves.
Lunch options feature great spots around the island. Guests can buy lunch at hotspots such as Peter Island, Foxy's Taboo, Pusser's, or Soggy Dollar. The experience from there continues as we island-hop around white-powder beaches, snorkel, and enjoy cocktails and snacks on the yacht or at an island tiki bar.
Really, we insist. We'd hate for you to fly home without seeing the Islands from this privileged offshore vantage point, where each reef, cay, beach, and harbor reveals a magnificent new face.

If fishing is your passion, there are a few charter companies with excellent records in the sport of open-sea angling. You don't have to be an experienced, "die-hard" fisherman to enjoy this trip though. Yacht charters for half a day or a bit longer are available, all under the direction of an experienced captain. Bait and tackle are provided of course. But so are drinks and ice in almost every case. Some companies offer boarding on two or more islands (usually St. Thomas and St. John).
Many visitors find that motor yachts are the perfect way to experience the beautiful waters around one of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tours offered include sightseeing around St. John, snorkeling in the British Virgin Island area, sunset cruises and boat tours of national parks. While prices vary depending on whether you choose sailing, fishing, power yacht etc. a full day sightseeing trip may run about $800 to $900 for up to six people. Some of the shorter, sunset tours can be arranged for $300 to $400 for up to six people. Most people report that when the price is divided among the passengers, the experience is more than worth the cost.
Larger yachts and cruisers are also available if your group numbers 12 or more. St. John is the smallest of the islands in this group but is often rated the most desirable destination. When you are planning your yacht charter, ask about or look for names like Cinnamon Bay, Trunk Bay or Caneel Bay. The islands promise to give you plenty of awe-inspiring moments, with great sand beaches and clear water that is great for snorkeling.
So, use your imagination, make your plans well ahead of time and see the U.S. Virgin Islands from the ocean point of view.
