Lindquist Beach, St. Thomas USVI

St. Thomas Lindquist Beach

If you’re looking for a hot spot that’s still hidden from the public eye, then you need to experience the serenity of Lindquist Beach. Though still quite undeveloped, this beach offers great fun at every corner. It’s a calm place for those who want to get away from the loud and cramped atmosphere of the rest of St. Thomas.

Lindquist Beach is perfect for those who simply want a relaxing bathe in the sun. Because of its secluded nature (you won’t find this beach on any map), one will have to take a taxi or rent a car to get to this location. The beach itself is only a small ride away from the Sugar Bay Resort. You’re never too far from civilization that you can’t get back when you need something. However, you’ll never be bothered by unruly tourists and their children or their activities.

You’ll be able to enjoy the incredible view from Lindquist Beach --there’s a great view of Thatch Cay from the beach; there’s also a few other cays not too far from Lindquist that make for beautiful scenery: Grass, Mingo, and Lovango. If you look far enough you may even be able to see St. John from Lindquist Beach.

The beach itself is overwhelmingly beautiful. Though undeveloped, it makes for incredible sunbathing and other beach side activities (beach ball, taking a bit of a jog, or just enjoying a great book under the sun). Keep in mind, there are no cabanas or restaurants nearby. But this makes this area perfect for a beachside picnic, watching the soft waves roll upon the shore as you enjoy your Caribbean meal. If you find yourself in need of some private facilities, there are port-o-potties --don’t get too bent out of shape; they’re all incredibly clean.

The sand is beautiful, soft, and incredibly delicate. You won’t find a beach more serene than Lindquist Beach in St. Thomas. The water is perfectly enchanting --a clear shade of turquoise and as soft as the water itself at the bottom. With the clarity of the water and the softness of the shore, the spot is a prime location for snorkeling. But as there are no facilities around, you’ll have to bring your own equipment. That shouldn’t prove too much of a hassle for those who are looking for a beach experience unlike any other.

It could quite possibly be one of the most romantic beaches in St. Thomas. Many couples have taken one look at this uncrowded, beautifully serene location and decided to tie the knot right then and there. You won’t find anything more touching than the sunset on this unpopulated beach. With the calmness of Lindquist, anyone would be able to enjoy the sun without being disturbed (do watch your belongings, however. There aren’t many people, but that doesn’t mean a shortage of pickpockets if you aren’t careful).

Lindquist Beach is paradise for those who want the pleasure of owning their own little part of the US Virgin Islands for a day.
