Morningstar Beach, St. Thomas USVI

If you’re the adventurous type, the type that wants to explore and run to your heart’s content, then you’re not going to find a beach more conducive to your need than Morningstar Beach. Located on the south side of St. Thomas, this stretch of sand has some of the best conditions for anyone who likes to take it to the sand or the water for some intensive activity.
The beach is a bit narrow, but that doesn’t disqualify it as a great place to jog, play beach sports, or have as much frolicking fun as you can possibly get. In the morning, the sun hits the beach in such a way you’d swear you were in paradise. This is the perfect beach for someone who wants to enjoy the luscious naturalness of the Caribbean and still get a good workout. The water is serene, for the most part. Because of its location and the open nature of the bay, the waves can do a bit of crashing, but nothing to deter visitors from getting their fill of water sports.

If you’re looking for a place to rest your bones after your day of water and excitement, head over to the Frenchman’s Reef Beach Resort, which is actually Morningstar Beach itself. As Morningstar faces Frenchman’s Bay, many just refer to the beach as Frenchman’s Bay Beach. Because of the nature of the beach, it’s incredibly easy to access --a simple taxi ride will get you where you want to go. It’s also one of the more liberal beaches in St. Thomas --you’ll find mostly youngsters there with more revealing bathing suits (as nudity is absolutely forbidden in the US Virgin Islands).
Anything you could possibly need is available on Morningstar Beach --from snorkeling gear to sailboat rentals. You’ll also never be short of exquisite cuisine to tempt your palette. The food is fresh from the Caribbean and delightful for those who have never had the pleasure of sampling some of the fare that the sea has to offer. The most renowned restaurant in the area is Coco Joe’s --full of the kind of fare that a tourist can appreciate, but also with food that is pleasing to even the most staunch connoisseur.

The beach is relatively calm during the year; however, as with most Caribbean beaches, it can get a wee bit overpopulated with tourists --especially around the Christmas season. This shouldn’t deter you from visiting whenever the spirit moves you. The beach is broad enough for anyone who wants to experience the US Virgin Islands in a calming and absolutely enchanting atmosphere. You’ll be able to share some private moments during the morning hours, but you’ll have to share with the rest of those who want to enjoy this beautiful beach during the peak hours of the day.
Morningstar Beach is perfect for those who want to engage in some intense water sports or just want to have a good time and meet new people.
