The Northside of St. Thomas is full of marvelous opportunities to get away from the hustle and bustle of tourism. Beyond the incredibly popular Magens Bay, you’ll find nothing short of exhilarating tranquility. If you’re interested in spending time with your significant other without being interrupted by overzealous tourists, or if you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy a quiet picnic and day of seaside play with your family, then you’re in luck.

St. Thomas Northside Beach Map

The Northside may not appear to be much of a hot spot for water sports. But certain parts of these beaches are perfect for taking a small dip. On Mandahl Bay, you’ll find that the water is fairly calm, giving you and the kids a good opportunity to do a bit of snorkeling and get next to the sea life. Or if you’d rather spend the day relaxing under the sun, you’ll want to visit Little Magens. Jutting off of the main beach on Magens Bay, this location is perfect for those who just want a quiet afternoon by the sea. Be wary, however, this is the only beach in which nudity is overlooked (though, nudity is forbidden in St. Thomas, it’s simply glazed over on Little Magens).

If the freeness of Little Magens isn’t your cup of tea, then head over to Hull Bay. The water is calm, the snorkeling is fantastic, and what’s more, you seemingly have the entire beach to yourself. Perhaps you’re more of the meditative traveler. For that you should visit Dorothea Bay. The beach is so serene, it provides the perfect opportunity to reflect and find your centre. If you’re interested in spending the time in a more active area, nothing quite beats Magens Bay. The resort there is fantastic and the opportunity for incredible family fun is immeasurable.
