Of course, with sufficient advance notice you should be able to reserve a beautiful beach location or an outdoor site that will give you the perfect backdrop for your wedding. In addition, it’s best to contact the government offices early to discuss licenses and other arrangements. There will be an extra fee for getting a license and other official documents on Sunday or on a holiday.
One of the best ways to ensure that all arrangements for St. Thomas weddings are in order is to enlist the help of a professional wedding coordinator based on the island. These knowledgeable wedding managers can arrange a ceremony on a sailing yacht, on the beach or in a luxurious venue. Some of these locations will be available for a very reasonable site fee. In addition, they will be able to help you contact a photographer, a caterer and other specialists who live and work on St. Thomas. Be sure to get your applications and fees in at least 10 days before the ceremony to avoid conflicts and delays.
For several years a number of wedding-coordinators have offered a menu of themed wedding packages. They provide a detailed checklist to make sure that you have all of the details covered. For example, you may choose a simple package that covers the licenses and other paperwork, the minister, transportation and one-hour of on-site assistance from the coordinator. Fees for this simple option can be around $500. For about $250 more you can get this package plus a photographer and a limited amount of photos.
Additional photos, a custom wedding cake and all of the above basics might cost about $1,250. Video of the ceremony adds an additional $500 to $600. All of these elements might seem to make up the perfect choice among St. Thomas weddings but many wedding-coordinators add the cruise option for the couple and/or a small number of guests. From basic to elaborate, St. Thomas weddings are sure to be memorable.
